Excerpt from The Book: "Pat and the Bug: CVC words"

Once upon a time, in a little red hut, there lived a cat named Pat. Pat was a playful cat who loved to run and nap.One sunny day, Pat saw a bug on the mat. It was a big, black bug! Pat tried to catch it, but the bug was too fast. It hid under the hat.Pat looked around and found a net. With a quick step, Pat caught the bug in the net. Pat was so happy!But then, Pat saw another bug on the rug. It was a red bug this time. Pat chased it all around the mug and gave it a hug.The bugs became friends with Pat. They played all day and sat on a mat. Pat, the bugs, and their fun were never flat!From that day on, Pat, the bug-catching cat, had many new friends to chat with. They played together and laughed a lot.And so, in the little red hut, Pat lived happily with the bugs, having adventures and fun, and never feeling stuck!
